Poker Rules

I like to play Poker. It really does not matter what game is played I just like to play. Particulary I am a fan of Texas Hold'em. In the past couple of months I have visited a casino that is about 90 minutes out of Dallas. When playing during the day you find many retired "locals" who play probably almost every day.

It seems when they see me coming they think.....oh boy here comes easy money. I don't know why they think if you are under 50 you are dumb.

But here is my observation: Can someone tell me why old men feel the need to talk CONSTANTLY while playing poker? Honestly, they don't shut up. YAK YAK YAK. If you happen to get in hand against one of them and lose??? It's over...you just signed up for 30 minutes straight of listening to their guide to poker playing. It does not matter that an hour earlier you beat them 3 times.

So please Poker players out there....enjoy your victories but please have some dignity.

What are some "practices" that get on your nerves when playing poker?

You need to watch Poker After Dark. I just finished an episode with Phil Hellmuth and Sean Shikan. They rip on each other. NO etiquette.

Home games are good!

Yeah I have seen this on those shows. What gets me is they talk like they won thousands of dollars when they won 40 bucks.....yak, yak, yak

My biggest peeve might be when someone shows another person at the table who has folded their cards and says, "What do you think?" WRONG! Should have to muck it AND let everyone else know what you had.

I will have to remember that the next time we play. i did see in Oklahoma a guy who evidently had a lot of money on the line and he got the card he needed. He screamed YES and walked away from the table WITH HIS CARDS. The place made him muk his hand and the other guy won the pot. Wild stuff.
